LOOK OUT ! TAGGED FISH !
The Tweed Foundation has been tagging fish at the bottom of the river to find out how many get caught by anglers on their way upstream
Some also have acoustic tags in them, so the fish can be tracked.
THE TAGS ARE BELOW THE DORSAL FIN
AND ARE YELLOW OR BLUE & HAVE A
NUMBER ON THEM
YYYY The Yellow tags are on Salmon tagged during June. The RTC has paid the netting stations to release these fish, so please return them to the river as they are part of the early season stock.
BBBB The Blue tags are on Salmon tagged from July onwards and on Sea-trout, and these fish can be killed or released as appropriate.
Please report the number from any tagged fish caught to the Tweed Foundation office at 01896 848 271 or e-mail to rcampbell@tweedfoundation.org.uk or tell the local RTC Water Bailiff.
Even if you forget the number, please report that you have caught a tagged fish!
